Call Me Maybe
"Hey I just met you, don't I look pretty? It's thanks to ORIGINS, you should get it already."
It all began with utilising the tools learned in previous lessons. We were told to use the Pen Tool to edge out the given images (fruits and cosmetics), which were compulsory elements in this promotional poster. Since the first lesson on Photoshop tools, I have been pretty much accustomed to using the Pen Tool for clearing unwanted backgrounds, which is a really good thing because it saves me lots of time.
Immediately after, we all faced the dilemma of posing as a model for our very own promotional poster. This I have to give credit to a very good friend of mine, who spared me some time along with her new DSLR for a personal photoshoot session. We sneaked into an empty classroom where the walls were white and the lighting was nice enough, and took quite a couple of shots in different poses. When showing my work to Ms. Ivy, we decided on a classy pose, and I began my editing.
That was the first version of my promotional poster.
But after reviewing my composed piece of art again and again, I felt that it lacked the most important thing of all- the theme. My sophisticated pose and thoughtful expression seemed less approachable for a "Call Me Maybe" promotional poster. In the end, I decided on another photoshoot session.
This time, I smiled in the photos, and out of the many shots, I picked one that expressed me, myself and I in the best way possible. I have to admit that my smile is my asset, and the new pose certainly portrayed a sweet and friendly disposition that shouted the theme out loud, along with its bright and vivid choice of colours in the background. Last but not least, I accompanied the artwork with a message that I wanted to convey about my brand's all new NATURE collection make up.
And I sent both my posters out, to family and friends, asking for their opinion and choice of vote. Finally, it was decided that the second version was to be my Artwork 2. Well, I'm kinda happy with it. Hope you like it too.
