Hunting down the collectibles took me a good few days, I must say. The whole process was more to the sweet side for me; flipping through old newspapers, magazines and brochures was such a pleasure that it absolutely didn't feel like I was in fact, doing assignment work. Only one thing that posed as a problem: I had limited resources. (Like really limited, only a small stack of whatever that's left since the last recycling.)
Among all the different types of items required, I started with hunting down good posters. It seems easier to get good posters than bad ones, especially in most of the well-established fashion magazines, where good brands advertise their products in equally good ways in terms of design. I picked out a couple, then narrowed them down to just three posters which looked clean and attractive in my eyes.
Bad posters were harder to find, but in all honesty, they are everywhere. All that cluttered images and text, wrong blend of colours, too much repetition, lack of contrast, etc. etc. were part of my findings. Also included in the clear folder were vector illustrations, floral hand paintings, caricatures, as well as technical drawings which I got from a neighbour working in the building industry.
And there you have it, my collectibles. I could continue hunting for more, really. There's plenty more out there.
